Cambrian Player gets ready to run marathon

Cambrian & Clydach player, Matthew Vivers is preparing to run London Marathon in April 2012 and is looking for your support.
Matthew has been at Cambrian for the past six years having represented the youth, reserve and first team. Matthew will be running the 26 mile event in aid of CYSTIC FIBROSIS.
- Cystic Fibrosis affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system by clogging them. This makes it hard to breath and digest food.
- It attacks approx 30,000 children and young adults, 9,000 of these are in the UK alone.
- Only half of those living with Cystic Fibrosis are likely to live past their late 30s. Each week, two young lives are lost to Cystic Fibrosis.
- When the CF Trust was founded in 1964, a child was lucky to live over five years. Only half of those living with Cystic Fibrosis are likely to live past their late 30s - not good enough, but getting better.
Matthew commented on the tough task ahead "This will be the furthest I've ever run, considering I don't do much running on the pitch and generally get others to do it for me! However, I'm really looking forward to the event and would like to thanks anybody who is able to support me by sponsoring and supporting my charity."
