Ammanford may have preferred any other League One team after hearing Cambrian had scored nine goals in their last two matches, Jason Bertorelli nearly added to this total hitting the post in the opening minutes. Ammanford came back with an early chance of their own, a powerful strike just inside the box being denied by goalkeeper Jarrad Howells. A long ball by Howells nearly embarrassed the Ammanford's defense, a headed ball floated past their own keeper and hit the post for a corner. Bertorelli found himself in the referee's book early in the first half after a collision with an Ammanford defender, the away supporters sure it was a sending off offense. Cambrian tightened up at the back and put pressure on Ammanford, several chances coming from their pace on both wings. Just before half time Bertorelli scored his first goal, beating three defenders and the goalkeeper.
After defending well for the first-half and only a goal down Ammanford would concede their second goal only minutes into the second, a quick free-kick taken by Shaun Fackerell put Bertorelli in for his second which he tucked under the keeper from the edge of the box to make it 2-0. James Mahoney caused Ammanford no end of trouble on the left wing attracting some hard tackles, after a 5050 challenge with Ammanford's goalkeeper Mahoney was sadly unable to continue. It wasn't long before Bertorelli was in on goal for his hat-trick, Huw Bowtell flicked a long throw onto the left wing which Bertorelli picked up beating the last defender and the goalkeeper finding the back of the net from a tight angle. Bowtell could only find the bar after beating the goalkeeper from close range but minutes later was picked out again from a long ball and was this time able to score making it 4-0 to Cambrian.
